I am having a strange issue with a Linksys WRT54GS - the unit will "freeze" while on the internet randomly. I have done all of the resets, turned off wireless, reduced the MTU, tried different firmware - and the same problem happens.

The problem is most noticable when downloading a large file - I will download anywhere from 500k to 2mb then it will freeze for 5 to 10 seconds. (I get about 400k to 500k a second when it works)

I am using a Toshiba 1100U cable modem.

I was having a similiar problem a few days back. I ran my anti-spyware tool and it found a whole bunch of stuff. I removed them and now things are running smooth as silk again.

For me I could get to any web page, but once I clicked on a link, the window would not refresh. The task bar would reflect the new page, but the page itself would be the original.

    Maybe that will help ...

Found my solution to my problem - Just figured I'd leave an update incase anyone had a a similar problem.

For the hell of it - I gave a new cable modem a try - and the thing now screams - was able to do a test D/l of XP SP2 (262 MB) in 8 minutes with no pauses or freezes.
