I have a Linksys WRT54GS V4, but I just noticed that the current firmware version is v4.20.8 (the web interface so that it gives me a Linksys WRT54G).

I would like to upgrade to a correct version, but each update (via the web interface), he replied "Upgrade are failed!", and that with an official firmware, or other ..

    What to do?

Thank you for reading (sorry for my poor English, I'm french).

As I recall with the official firmware, if a firmware upgrade fails, it sets a flag such that any other firmware upgrade attempt will also fail. Make sure you power-cycle the router between firmware upgrade attempts.

Power circle your router and after that set it to factory defaults and let the router set itself, wait at least 5 minutes before using it, then try again, you should have the correct firm, if not, tray with a mini dd-wrt firm(not micro one) Again, always let the router to settle itself, always use wired, not wifi for loading firm.
