Hi can anyone tell me will this be ok with a 20meg line? My local cable company (Virgin Media)have just upgraded me from 10meg to 20meg, but so far I see no difference just wondering would it be my router?

I know the cable modem is ok as my friend who lives local has the same modem and he just got his 20meg upgrade. I have switched the cable modem and router off then back on, but still the same :frown: Just thought I would ask here before ringing them up.

    TIA HT

Virginmedia have had problems with upgrading. they have already turned off the inktomi proxy caches and this alone has affected speed tests that use web based browsers.

BTW what cablemodem do you have? afaik the VM 255 or ntl 250 are the only type that can handle the new speeds.

I have already raised this issue with others in the UK based www.chetnet.co.uk forums. tbh I dont see why the SL should not handle the extra speed.

what speed does your cablemodem show?

Hi Simon, the name on the front is Webstar and on the side it says :
    Scientific Atlanta
    EPC 2100 series
    H/W Rev 2.0

I have just had a look at the Virgin Media site and its say I don't need cable modem upgrade

    Where's my upgrade?

    Compatible 20meg modems list

I tired the CmOpConfig.asp but I get just a blank screen?
