Looking for some advise on this subject as I am new to the whole Linsys Router Firmware.

I have a Linksys WAG54G router which came with the usual version 1.0 revision of bios. I upgraded it too 2.7.3 but everything started to die, port forwarding and Firewall failed I dongraded it to 2.5.3 and the port forwarding start to function but my Checkpoint Securit Client failed, if I switch off the Firewall everything starts to work again.

I can see there is 3rd party BIOS updates, is there a version for this Wireless Router.

Not yet, any 3rd party software is around because the original firmware was opensource, and so other companies could modify the code, to improve it.

Hopefully linksys will release the WAG's firmware to opensource soon, and then you'll probably see improved firmware for it, but at the moment you will just have to make do like the rest of us.

Thank you for the update mate.

Do you have any recommendations for configuration apart from the following and prefered Firmware version.

    RTS 2304
    Fragmentation 2304
    Beacon 50

    Firmware Current 2.5.3

Not really thats the settings I'm using as well, if you find the router is getting hot and the wireless drops out, try sticking the unit on one side.
