    Hey Guys,

I'm having a strange DNS resolution issue. I can resolve a local host using the host command:

    tesla:~ cell$ host watt
    watt has address
but the system can't seem to resolve hosts:

    tesla:~ cell$ ping watt
ping: cannot resolve watt: Unknown host
but for some reason if I append a '.', it works fine:

    tesla:~ cell$ ping watt.
PING watt ( 56 data bytes
    64 bytes from icmp_seq=0 ttl=64 time=0.667 ms
    64 bytes from icmp_seq=1 ttl=64 time=0.629 ms

hmm, the problem just fixed itself. I think this happened because I switched from using a wired connection to a wifi connection, which caused my macbook to get a new dhcp lease from my router, and now everything works.
