Log messages in separate file on a remote logging pc

    Hi,

I have a WRT54G router (Firmware Version : v4.30.1, HyperWRT 2.1b1 +tofu13c) and want to log all messages onto another PC. So I entered the SysLog IP address of the remote PC but now all messages go into 1 file including of other machines. I want to have a separate log for the messages coming from my router for example /var/log/router.log

On the remote logging machine I try to use facilty in the syslog.conf:
    # router messages
    local0.info /var/log/router.info.log
    local0.notice /var/log/router.notice.log
    local0.warn /var/log/router.warn.log

but the router messages keep getting into the general /var/log/messages

I noticed on other routers for example Zyxel, DLink, Cisco you can explicitly set the facility so you can filter on it on the remote logging PC! For DLink see http://www.nrgglobal.com/products/lw_syslog_configuration.php#dlink700syslog

    Can someone help me?

    greetings Jan
