Looking for a good directional antenna for my WRT54GL running Tomato...

    Router: WRT54GL
    Firmware: Tomato 1.02.0931

I'm currently living in a one-floor apartment, and my router is on one side of the apartment (and due to certain reasons, it cannot be moved). As a result, the other side of the apartment gets poor signal strength. I blame the poor/old construction of the apartment, as there are merely 2 walls between the room the router is in and the room that gets poor signal. After playing around with the router's default antennae for a bit, I found that pointing them towards the area of the apartment with weak signal helps a TINY bit but not enough. I've come to the conclusion that my best bet is to get a directional antenna instead of sticking with the default omni-directional ones. Can anybody recommend me a good directional antenna for use with my router? My spending limit is around $40... I would also prefer it if the antenna was available on Amazon, as I have a $20 giftcard. I know I could create my own, but I am not very knowledgable in that area.

These are ones I found while looking around... Can anybody testify as to whether or not these work well?

I haven't tried the products you've listed, but I have been using 2 different omni-directional high gain antennae from Planex Communication to good results (one is attached to my WRT54G v3.1).

Does anybody know which antenna is which on this router? I think I need to set one to transmit and the other to receive, but I don't know which one is which. All it says is A and B, but I don't know which antenna is A or B. Which one should an external antenna be set to, transmit or receive?
