Hiya folks. I'm trying to get an issue sorted where I see a 10Mbps speed discrepency when routed through my router.

Basic setup, Charter 30/4 service into a Netgear CG3000D-RG with a DMZ forward to my Linksys, which is a WRT54GS V1.0 with Shibby from last week sometime (as an upgrade to a years-old stock Tomato flash).

When I plug my HTPC directly into the Netgear, speedtests show the full 30Mbps (well, 28 with Firefox, 31 with IE, etc..) Move that connection back to the Linksys and I'm at 20Mbps. I've done this test several times with the same results, even once with my laptop just to verify it wasn't my HTPC having issues.

This is a silly problem that I can't remember ever having before (though, to be fair, I was using DD-WRT before and had to replace the router a couple years back when lighting struck, litteraly). I'm somewhat savvy, but having been out of the industry for a number of years isn't helping me find a solution. Hoping someone will help get me in the right direction.

My wants/needs are Very low-key/simple. I say this incase there's a better firmware option. I don't use Voip, don't game, don't VPN, don't TOR, but do stream video. There are 8 connected devices in my home, 2~3 in use at the same time.

    Many thanks!
