i just got the connection working out here, but it says "low connection" at 24.0 mbps. I used to get 36 or higher with linksys crap vxworks firmware. Any fine tuning i can do?

i have noticed this same exact thing with a wrt54gs v6. i used to get quite a bit better range with the linksys firmware (1.50.9) before flashing with dd-wrt v23 sp2 micro. i read that the transmit power for the vxworks firmware is 84mW so i changed it to that but only noticed a very nominal improvement. i'm kinda pissed that this has happened but it's nice to know that i'm not the only one who has noticed this.

Make sure FrameBurst is on on DD-WRT. Search this site for the wireless tweaking post, maybe you'll find something there.

I'm not sure about the Mbps being displayed, but I found the actual throughput speed with dd-wrt to be lower by maybe 20% or so compared to the Linksys firmware on a V5.1. Guess you have to choose between the speed of VxWorks and the additional features of dd-wrt.

Oh, and lbjandai, not to be critical, but the "m" in mbps means "milli", i.e. 1/1,000 - the symbol for "mega" is "M", i.e 1,000,000 (but I'm sure we all understood what you meant).
