What is the distance between the client and the router?
Any physcial obstacles between the client and the router?
Any other wireless device nearby? (e.g., cordless phones, microwave ovens, other WLANs)
Which wireless adapter is the client using and how is the client situated in the room (e.g., under the desk, against the wall, etc.)?

i have found ouot that by useing a hacked firmware and setting power to 85% and useing chan 1 i can get a very good signal (about a 75% signal quality to about 300 feet) thats going from one house to another and i have no complaints and thats useing stock antenna's just immagine what i can do with a outdoor antenna i wounder if my ham radio antenna will work lol
