I am getting a pair of the linksys brand 7 dBI antennas for the WRT54G/GS router. What are the results for people's luck with them? How much of an increase was noted, if any.

The stock antenna's are 2dbi. That makes an increase of 5dbi, if you are going to use the 7dbi antenna's.

Should make your range 3 to 4 times bigger ;)

I bought them and definitely noticed a marginal increase in range and realability. Do not expect miracles. I still ended up buying an AirPort Express and using WDS to give me the coverage I needed (WRT54GS is on middle level of house, AX is upstairs on opposite end.)

i bought them and now i get mad range through trees and stuff..

i am sure scott is having other issues with his equipment and has money to burn on crappier hardware.
linksys is the best value around.
and if you want 9and there is a compusa around) there are 9dba antennas for about 10$ less

    Workin fine so far

I live in an old house and have been using these antennas for about 2 weeks now since I started the thread. I get very good range almost anywhere except the basement. Because of that, I was able to relocate my WDS box farther away and connect the computer to the WDS box with a wire instead of having a wireless NIC to cut on halfing the bandwith.

I think that I if i get another set of antennas for the WDS box on the other side of the house, it would be the best reception ever. Both boxes are on max power output. Next thing is to scrounge for some $$$$......BTW, I saw those 9dbi antenna at Compusa and they are really huge, like something on WWII walkie but must work well.
