making the router keep a connection alive

I've recently bought a WRT54GS and the computer I use is connected to the router wired. The problem is that when I turn off my computer (the only wired connection) the other users in my house who are connected to the router wirelessly cannot access the internet. The router disconnects the internet or something. I'm not sure if this question has been answered already, I can't seem to find the solution anywhere. If anybody knows how to make it so that if I turn off my computer the other users can still access the internet, I'd be very grateful. Thanks!

I have my host name as blank. What am I supposed to put there?

nothing, i guess. but what happens if you leave the desktop's ethernet wire unpluged??
and what happens it if you put the desktop on the wireless.

what firmware do you have on the router.
did you unplug and plug it back in.?
did you hit the reset button?

Hmm, I'm not sure what I did, but it's working now with the wired computer offline. Doesn't make sense... Tried a whole bunch of things, including reseting my modem and router and restarting all computers.

I have Firmware v4.70.6 that came with the router.
I do however get frequent disconnects time to time. The router seems to get disconnected then tries to reconnect every 5 mins or so.
