What is the problem when max DHCP Clients won't change from 1 only.
    WRT54GL flashed with Firmware Version: v4.71.1, Hyperwrt 2.1b1 + Thibor15c.

changed Subnet Mask from ending in 252

I just tried changing the Subnet Mask, from the one ending with 252 to another, and was able to change the number of DHCP Clients.

The problem as you figured out is due to the subnet mask.

With a subnet mask of (/30), you have 2 usable IPs. The router uses an IP address, so your left with 1.

Changing the last octet (252 in the example above) in the subnet mask, will give you more or less usable IPs. You can only change the last octet as the router only supports up to 253 devices. So the best subnet mask you can have is (/24).

    Examples of different subnet masks: (/29) = 6 usable IPs (/28) = 14 usable IPs (/24) = 254 usable IPs
