Maximum "safe" tranmit power setting

I just loaded HyperWRT 1.4 last night. The first thing I did was bump the power from 28mw to 56mw. I noticed a significant signal increase in an area of my home that was typically low.

My question is: what would be considered a "safe maximum" setting on my WRT54G v1.0 router? I'm afraid I'll burn the electronics up if I take it to more than 56mw.

I seldom shut the little blue sucker off since I'm connected via Verizon DSL ...

Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions! You people really seem like a nice group!

56mW should be fine. My unit had been running at an even higher power setting (84mW) for 6 months on Wifi-Box firmware previously.
