    Hi dear friends,

I think that linksys WRT54G is without modem ADSL.
What is the modem adsl that I must connect to Router?
What is the connection between router modem and PC?

    Thanks a lot

You should be able to connect any PPPOE/PPTP ADSL modem to the WRT54G(S) (except USB ADSL modems). It's a normal Ethernet connection and a short CAT5 cable is already included.
Instead of plugging the modem into the NIC of your computer, you just have to connect it to the RJ45 WAN port of the router.

Thanks to answer..... but I don't undestand if is better WRT5G and external modem or WAG54G with internal modem.

Each of these two options has has its advantages and disadvantages.

Depending on the prices in your country it might be a little bit more expensive, if you have to buy the WRT54G(S) + an additional ADSL modem, than just the WAG54G with the internal modem. Of course if you already have a modem the WRT54G(S) is the way to go.

A disadvantage of combined solutions like the WAG54G is, that if the device dies, you'll loose both, your router/AP and your ADSL modem. If the WRT54G(S) dies, you still have your modem, which you can connect directly to your computer until you get a new router.

And if you are planning to use the Sveasoft firmware, you should also get a WRT54G(S), because afaik currently there is not 3d party firmware for the WAG54G.

My advice woud be to spend the few additional $ and get the WRT54GS and a good, reliable ADSL modem like the Teledat 300 LAN.

THE wag54g is also plagued with problems.
