Moving my WRT54G

Hi, I have what should be a simple question. I currently have my DSL router (SpeedStream) hooked to WRT54G, from this I have 2 pc's (Dell 4400 and IBM 300), PSUS4 print server and an NSLU2 file server. I have found that I need to move the 54G to get signal out to my shop (current 54G location is in basement). I would like to move the 54G and in it's current physical location put an EFSP42 print server but only use the 4-port switch, not the print server application. Is this too convolleted? Should I just spring for longer cat-5 cables and run all of it to the new 54G location? Also, using the PSUS4 as a switch is out of the question because of location. Thanks in advance and sorry this seems to ramble.
