moving up from BEFW11S4...

I currently have the following set-up: a BEFW11S4 (I believe version one or two) with a Linksys Signal Booster attached, cable modem; two wired desktops networked along with a laptop with an Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG card that gives me excellent range (router in basement and laptop ground floor at a distance of probably 50 feet on the diagonal).

My question is: I would like to be able to combine all three components (router, booster, and modem) by substituting the WCG200 in order to do away with rat's nest of cables and power cords. By doing this would I be losing any signal strength?

If so, while keeping the cable modem, what about the WRT54GS or WRT54GX? I realize that there is also the option of adding a range expander to my network.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.
