    Aloha all,

I have been searching the forum for info in an effort to install a multi access point wireless network for VOIP. I have gotten a ton of useful information and want to say mahalo! (hawaiian thanks)

I would love any additional comments about my design you all might have.

I will be using 5 WRT54G's (hardware ver 4) running dd-wrt v23 std. They will all be connected via cat5 so no wds/bridging necessary. There will be 3 wired phones (polycom 501's and 4 wireless ZyXel P-2000w's)

I have a considerable amount of experience using cisco's aironet products and antenna's indoor and outdoor and have done a basic wireless site survey.

my house has all metal walls outside and a few wood and sheet rock inside. The exterior walls will really suck, since they will block the signals and no doubt cause a lot of multi path interfearence. To accomidate this and extend the range of the wireless signal I am using wall mounted patch antennas (with RX/TX diversity in mind).

There are 3 floors and they span a large area, so the AP's will be set to 3 non overlapping channels (1,6,11) in order to cover the whole area.

Has anyone tried something like this yet?
