I am attempting to secure the USB Drive on Tomato-02 below.

Objective: To allow 'Laptop' to choose either or,
if 60.3 then there would be no ability to access the Internet, and access
to the USB drive would be enabled. If 50.3, no access to the USB drive,
    Internet only.

    USB Drive

    Tomato-02 : which gateway 50.1 or 60.1
Do I need 2 lans ? if so which is the default ?
Do I need iptables to restrict access ?
What should the Advanced>Routing>Micellaneous>Mode be set at ?

Thank you for any help you can offer.

How does the laptop 'choose' 50.3 or 60.3. And is it connected by wired connection to Tomato-02 or the switch?

What is the point of Tomato-02 anyways? In your setup it's just acting as a switch + USB port/NAS; you could just connect the USB drive to Tomato-01 and accomplish the same thing. If it's actually acting as a gateway and creates a NAT behind it, then your not going to be able to access it from any device that's connected to the switch or Tomato-01.

Your setup lacks details and is confusing, and your idea of 'deny internet when connected to USB, but allow internet when not connected to USB' for data security has some serious holes in it.

Your reply does not clarify any of my issues.

Thanks anyway, I'll pursue another method.
