Multiple XBOXs and Tomato?

Does static dhcp and upnp via miniupnpd allow multiple xboxs to connect to xbox live simultaneously?

Why? We use a very similar build of miniupnpd in RouterTech AR7 ADSL firmware and apparently it only allows the first XBOX to connect properly.

If it works with Tomato that clears miniupnpd but it may due to the iptables "Trigger" target allowing multiple devices to use same external ports?

Lots of duff info on the net on this!

Yes it does with out any issues.

Umm, you mean it allows all xboxes to connect properly and always has. Open and moderate just means external an internal ports are the same/different.

By not using port numbers and creating their own language they've simplified port forwarding. Which is why the first 100 pages on google are people trying to fix something that isn't broken

Thanks FattysGoneWild, that means we can first make sure nothing amiss in miniupnpd vs a known working config, only then leaves the kernel, netfilter and iptables...

Azuse - if you have any definitive reference for what XBOX needs/does that would be great! That's the first useful info on MS terminology of open and moderate - the router could use port mapping to use same ports on both XBOXes, but different external.

This lists a whole set of ports

but I guess the xbox needs to be able to connect to the server using the destination dns (53) and http ports 80, kerberos authentication 88, and 3074 is used for incoming? But if single incoming port used, how do multiple Xboxes work, and why does portforward.com recommend them as incoming:-

Those lists are not only redundant they're the source of the problem.

Turn off xboxs, give them static ips, delete port forwards, enable upnp (disable nat-pmp in victeks 1.28 mipsr1 builds, theres a bug effecting xboxs), start xboxs. First xbox/gfwl pc will read open, rest moderate.

    Ignore ms bs.

Can you be more specific, what bug is that? Is Victek aware of it? Does this affect an X-box and Wii combination?
    A little uncalled for.

If you think that MS support page, and portforward.com link is wrong, as I do, please use their feedback form. I do not believe the XBOX needs to work as a webserver and dns server etc - it needs to have those ports open outgoing, not incoming!

Just to be sure about this you must have dhcp enabled on the XBOX and use the router static-dhcp assignment to give them static ips. see first post
