I have the linksys WRT54G, and the Dell truemobile internal wireless built into my Dell laptop.

One day my laptop lost connection to the router and since then its been iffy. I tried reseting the router and upgrading the firmware and nothing has fixed the problem. Once in a while it will connect to the router then if I unplug my laptop from one of the ports the speed will go down to 1 or 2 mbs a second then finally lost connection all together.

What can I do to fix this?

And I want to use a third party firmware. Which ones do you suggest?

I have a laptop that seems to prefer wpa2/aes over wpa. WPA will connect, but it falls off occasioanlly. It's got one of those intel pro wireless thingy's.

    Yes, I said a "thingy".

I think I got it fixed.

I updated the driver for my laptop wireless card.

As soon as it was finished updating it connected right up to the router, and it did the same after I restarted the laptop.
