NAS200 Fan won't Shut Down

This may be an old topic, so please redirect me if all this is in another thread.

New NAS200, V3.4R75 Two Blue WD 500G drives, RAID 1. Light home use, so drives NEVER even get warm... (Spin down set to 30 minutes, and appears to work)

UPNP turned off, Scandisk turned off, Manually set the time (no Time Server used)... No Download or DDNS. Unit shuts down each night as directed.

Yet the fan will never stop running no matter how I have things set. It is a bit loud on my unit, and annoying in an otherwise quiet room.

Is there some magic trick to getting this to work, or is this a known issue.

It's possible that your unit has a hardware problem (basically a short-circuit that leaves the fan on instead of turning it off). If it's still under warranty, contact Linksys. If not, you can install my firmware and connect through SSH to get a command line. The command "Set_Led fan_off" (without quotes, mind the capital letters) should turn the fan off immediately. If not, there is a hardware problem.

I think it is because you have raid set, i think i had the same issue with my WD Greens. The set LED fuction (i forgot the exact name) can turn off the fan and you can use hdpram to sleep the drives
