NAS200 How to copy directly from USB to Internal HardDisk or vice versa.

Discussion in 'Cisco/Linksys Network Storage Devices' started by vuilverwerking, Nov 3, 2008.

  1. Hi,

Does anybody know if it is possible to copy directly from USB1/2 connected Storage to the NAS200 Internal Disks or vice versa.
It takes a lot of time to do it via network.
There is no option for this in de WebInterface.
I have to copy 500GB from USB HD to the Internal HD.

    Dat kan niet met de....

    Oops sorry

You can't do that with the standard software but with the Jac0 firmware you can log in to Telnet or SSH and do it from the shell with a cp command.

You won't save much time, though, the hardware will probably only let you copy 4MB/sec maximum...

Also if you already updated to the latest Linksys firmware (R75) and reformatted your internal drives with ext2 or ext3 file system, chances are that Jac0 won't see your files because it's based on R62 which only supports XFS.
