Hello I try to did the formatting with the build-in tools using the webGUI but it is still doing the Formating...

I let it running 8 days now but the LEDs are still flashing, and the web interface only print "Formating..."

Last week I try to format it using Gparted but I could not make it work!
My harddrive is 2TB and I formated it as following:

    • 1.86GiB ext2
    • 118MiB ext2 (I also try with unknow format but it doesn't work)
    • 59MiB Swap linux
Can someone told me how to do it using Gparted or another linux tool (In command it may be better if another user want to reproduce it)

    Did someone had this problem!

Turn the NAS200 off (if the power button doesn't work, just unplug it -- there's nothing on the disks you can lose anyway). Then turn it back on.

Then, check what the web GUI says about the disk. If it says it's formatted, do a disk check (this may also take a long time). If not, do the format again. It may take up to 2 days for a disk that large because the NAS200 is very low on memory.

If you have a smaller SATA disk, replace your 2TB drive with the smaller drive and format that one. Then remove the drive and use a PC with SystemRescueCD to copy the files from the second partition of the smaller drive to the second partition of the bigger drive. Then insert the bigger drive in the NAS and see if it recognizes it as Formatted and Ready. I've never tried this but it may be possible to trick the system into thinking that the drive is ready by copying the files.
