Hi, this is my first post here.
OK Here's my setup: I have a Motorola Cable Modem (comcast) connected to a Linksys BEFSR41 router. There are 2 macs (10.3) and a PC (Win98) hooked up. Everything worked fine until we got a powerbook and Airport Extreme. I now have the AE hooked into the "UPLINK" port on the Linksys, and the AE is configured NOT to distribute IP addresses. The other computers are wired into ports 2, 3, and 4.

    Now here's the problems:

    1. The computer in port 4 has no network connection at all, despite the fact that it has been assigned an IP address by the linksys. It also doesn't seem to matter which computer. it's only port 4 that has this problem.

    2. The Powerbook with the AE keeps losing its assigned IP address and thus loses its network access.

Can anyone recommend a better way to configure these things? Or can anyone tell me what's going on?
I read on another post that maybe the router firmware is problematic. (1.45.7) Could that be the problem? Any help/recommendations would be incredibly appreciated.
