Need help building a custom firmware for RVS4000

I would like to pull out the stock DHCP and DNS rely in the RVS4000 firmware. And instead replace it with DNSMasq. That way local clients can be accessed via there host name.

I am a competent programmer, but have never worked with compiling a linksys firmware. I will help with the interface enhancements for such. But will need help in knowing what to remove, and what not to remove. As well as help in making sure we compile a firmware that wont brick the router.

If anyone finds this interesting and would like to go on this task with me to be the first (to my knowledge) small fork from the linksys firmware for the RVS4000, I would be greatly appreciated. Or if anyone has experience with doing these sort of things, and would be interested in doing this as a commission. I would be willing to pay for a firmware which has DNSMasq vs the stock DHCP and DNS.

    Thank you

None reply for years on this one.

I also wish there was an alternative Firmware available for the RVS4000.
