Need help in setting up VPN in WRV200

I live in Beijing, China. In order to avoid the Great Internet Firewall set up by the Chinese Government, I hope to set up a VPN connection from my notebook (XP Home edition) to my friend"s WRV200 in Hong Kong so that all the Internet traffic from my notebook could exit via Hong Kong.

I used QuickVPN client and successfully set up a VPN tunnel. However, the web traffic still could not go throught the VPN tunnel via Hong Kong. I use the "ipconfig" comment but found no trace of VPN configuration.

I would be appreciated if anyone could give me some advice.

    Many Thanks.

A couple things, first i have a really good paper written on the "Great Firewall of China" and it goes into alot of detail if i remember right on how users are getting around it, so i will dig it out and see what it says. Secondly, most soho routers have an issue with using tunnels as internet pathways. I have not gone into great testing to make this happen because i have never had too, but what i have done that is a simple fix is to you a remote host to access the internet on the other side of the tunnel. For instance i setup RDP an my brothers and parents and maintain working pc's there, that way if i ever have to test anything , i can RDP to the machine on the other side of the tunnel, and if need be connect to the internet from there. I will see if i can find that paper later today and look at it again to see what it says.
