    Network Condition:

I have WRV54G VPN Router(w/ newest firmware) at home with Comcast. There is one Dell server (i set static local ip on it) running behind the WRV54G.

In my compay office, it has SBC DSL with static public ip (Netopia gateway + Netgear MaxRang wirless N router).

    ---------------------

I can setup VPN from office to home via QuickVPN client easyily. But i never able to get VPN working with Greenbow.

Q1: As the network condition above, i only can use quickvpn because WRV54G self doesn't support NAT-T. Is that right?

Q2: After QuickVPN connected to my home network, I can not ping the Dell server because it has ZoneAlarm running. I have to turnoff the zonealarm, in order to ping the ip of dell server and also use the ip address to browse the shared files on Office PC. How to change the ZoneAlarm setting to make it works with the VPN?

Q3: I can use local ip to browse shared files, but i can not ping the computer name and use computer name to browse shared files in VPN. I tried Netgear Prosafe 318 VPN router, the NetBios works great. but WRV54G's NetBios doesn't work at all. How to setup Netbios in WRV54G router?

    Thanks a lot.

Correct. The WRV54G does not support NAT-T, so you're not going to be able to use greenbow from behind the WRV54G; in order to use greenbow from behind the wrv54g, you'd need to put a NAT-T enabled router "before" the wrv54g (i.e., wrv200); then, you'd be able to use greenbow from behind the wrv54g. The second option is to connect your computer directly to your modem. These are obviously "not" good solutions, which is why everyone was upset about the WRV54G initially

Q2: After QuickVPN connected to my home network, I can not ping the Dell server because it has ZoneAlarm running. I have to turnoff the zonealarm, in order to ping the ip of dell server and also use the ip address to browse the shared files on Office PC. You'll need to go inside zone alarm and "allow" permission for the remote ip address to access the server. Unfortunately, I haven't used zone alarm in a while, so I can't guide you specifically, but this is a simple problem to fix once you locate the area on ZA that allows you to configure access/deny rules :)

I can't recall whether or not if I had problems with Netbios during a WRV54g to WRV54g vpn tunnel, but just to make sure you've got the right option enabled on the vpn advanced setup page, I've attached a screenshot. Additionally, recheck to ensure you've enabled DNS on your network cards just for the sake of clarity... Also, you may have to configure an Lmhost file(s) to see your other computers. Thanks jay,

i found the way to setup zonealarm: on the 'Firewall' tab, then 'Zones', then 'add' a 'subnet' as 'Trusted'.

still trying to solve the netbios issue
