I have a WRT54GS v6 (unfortunately :() and i currently use it as my internet connection splitter... for ADSL. But now i want to use it for sharing files and printers i.e. i want to set up a LAN with WiFi and the computer connected directly to the router. Is this possible or am I just asking a useless question?

Please reply at the earliest... thanks :)

Yes any computers on your LAN should be able to see each other and share files/ printers. Just needs configuration on each computer - XP has wizards to do this. A common reason for this not working is that software firewalls on each machine need to be configured to allow local network connections, and then there are issues with passwords , users workgroups etc...

Okay, so this applies to all computer connected via cable to the router or even those connected via WiFi.....I actually tried looking for computer but it did not find any.... i dont have a firewall so that shouldn't be much of a problem.

    Thanks for the reply :)
