from the computer, open a command prompt and type in ipconfig /all and let us know what the primary/secondary DNS are. Im guessing its a setting thats bad or it just needs a power cycle, i doubt its isolated to the xbox

I had problems with the same thing the other day with DNS... a couple hours later, I tried again, and it worked... I don't think the problem is with your router. Try unplugging your cable modem or whatever you have for a couple minutes.. both the cable and the power cord. See what happens there.

I have no idea how netset.exe would help you but have a look at http://support.microsoft.com/kb/268781/ if you want to know more. To ping an address (assuming you are using Windows XP

    1) Click start then run
    2) In the dialogue box type cmd and hit ok. A command prompt will open.
    3) type ping linksysinfo.org

It should return an IP address and the response in milliseconds.
