Anyone have a junk WRT54G Ver 1.0. I need a power supply. This is a back-uo unit . I have a P.S. hacked up but may get rid of this unit and would like to have a power supply.

i believe any adapter with 12v 500mA output should work fine. Thats the output on the 4 of mine, versions 3 and 4. dont think the 1.1 could be much diff? correct me if im wrong anyone

Actually, the WRT54G and WRT54GS all use 12v at 1A (1000mA). That is, except for the WRT54G 1.0, which uses 5V at 2A, according to the autopsy on linksysinfo.

The unit would probably be somewhat more saleable with a factory adapter, but honestly anyone interested in the 1.0 would probably want it primarily for the mini-PCI wireless card anyway. The processor in the 1.0 is relatively weak. I don't know if I'd spend any money on a stock power supply when it may not drive up the selling price of the router anyway.
