    OK specs... to get them out of the way:
    im using a lynksys etherfast cable/dsl router w/ 4 port switch model: BEFSR41 w/ 1.04.09 firmware.
    and i have 1 desktop and a couple laptops connected to it. (all with winXP SP2)

    i connect from: wall outlet->modem->router->computer.

    whenever i setup port forwarding my computer constantly says "Network cable unplugged" and my internet is disconnected for a few sec. this disconnects most of my programs. is there any way to stop this?

    its the router saving the settings, so not really, it depends on the model as some do this and some dont.

    surely you dont have to change ports that often anyway??

    and instead of azureus i'd use utorrent ;) uses alot less resources

    make sure the Enabled box is ticked. if it is not then afaik it defaults to the port being Blocked.
