Hi!I lost my installation cd for my wrt54g v8 router.I rebooted the router and now it has no password on it.I'd like to set up a pass on my network but i can't do it without the install cd cause it contained the software for it.Can anyone give me the drivers for my router so i can put a pass on?

P.S. my os is Vista x32

Routers dont have software so you don't need the cd, it just makes setting it up easier. With the power on press and hold the reset button for 30 seconds. Wait for the router to cycle back up. Enter http://192.168.1.1 in your browser. When it asks for username and password leave username blank and admin for password. Then you get to the GUI and reconfigure manually. Much easier this way.

You dont need that cd for anything and actually its a waste of space and once you learn a little will realize its a waste of time.

    1) plug into your router with a cable
    2) determine your default gateway (probably 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1)
    3) log into your router (http://192.168.1.1 or 192.168.0.1)
    4) access whatever settings you need too, to change or modify what you need.
    5) ask whatever other questions you have
