I just installed two new HD in my nas and copied all the files over. How long does it take for the nas to index all the files. I have about 10,000 mp3 and 1,000 videos. Does any one have any experience with this? Because right now it is running so slow that I cannot access the files on it.

It may take a long time for the media server to index all that, probably hours. As "wlkn" mentioned, the NAS200 is really underpowered to be a media server in the first place... It works decently as a file storage device but the media server is just too memory hungry.

    Got it

I know the nas200 is not the most powerful until but it works great for serving movies and pictures. I turned off the serving mp3's. The 1.5's are working fantastic now. I guess the HD do make a difference.
