I assume you previously had your computer connected directly to your DSL modem.

Now, with the router connected to the DSL modem, you may have to change the DSL modem to "Bridged Mode".

Many times you have to re-connect your PC directly to the modem in order to do this. Then you access the modem's IP address to bring up its configuration settings, make the change to "Bridged Mode", then re-connect the router to the modem, and reboot everything ... router, modem, and PC ... so all the devices can detect the new configuration.

Are you sure of your user ID. In my case I have to put in userID@ameritech.net. UserID is of course what my user ID is to login. Wonder if you need more. What is the setting when you connect your PC to the modem? At least I assume that is how you are connected to the internet to access this forum.

Hey I'm having the same prob, besides being a noob.
When I set DSL Modem as bridge mode, I can't telnet into the router/tomato to get the settings all set up. Any suggestions? One clarification...beingthe noob I am - if I am setting the modem to being in bridge mode - what is that doing? What is the modem's function in that case?

Thanks for the help in advance!!!
