    Linksys just put out new firmware (July, 2007) for the WRT54G. Anyone try it? Any noticable differences?

    I've got the version 8 router and updated it earlier this past week with the new firmware.
    So far, I haven't noticed any differences either. I'm eagerly waiting for the DD-WRT to be
    released for my router.

    firmware 8.0.0.2 Release Notes.

    My biggest problem with this router is that Port Forwarding and DMZ don't appear to work.

    I've got a NSLU2 attached to the router and I've tried both port forwarding & DMZ, accesing
    it through a neighbor's access point. The logs in my router show my attempts as an Alert only.
    No matter what I try, I can't access it from the WAN side of the router. Same thing applies to
    using Remote Desktop.

    But from the LAN side, I can access the NSLU2 and I can use Remote Desktop for other
    systems on my network.

    The only way I can access my NSLU2 from the Internet is by connecting it directly to the LAN
    side of my Westell VersLink 327W DSL Modem. But then again, that causes another unwanted
    problem such as not being able to Map the drives on the NSLU2.
    (or at least, I don't know how it could be done)
