I haven't tried a large file transfer, but another problem I have is that I can't download a backup of my config when using https. Using http works fine if I enable it.

    Hi All,

One problem here. The new firmware has connection problems when used in combination with a wmp54g with WPA/TKIP.
    Without security all is ok.
With WPA/TKIP enabled i get "Acquiring Address" but DHCP gives no IP.
So, after a while, connection stops.
With older firmwares there's no problem with the same settings.

Is somebody aware of this issue? Is there a solution?

    Thanks for any help!

Where you using WPA2? The WMP54G does not support WPA2.
If not you should enable SSID broadcast, since disabling SSID braodcast does not add to your security and your WMP54G will have a problem connecting if SSID broadcast is disabled with WPA-PSK TKIP.

Wireless transfers work well for me.. I was having some connectivity issues using WPA2... I couldn't get an ip after or something like that... I turned off Mac filtering and it seems to be working fine now...

internal Intel 2200... I think that is it... With the latest Microsoft patch to enable WPA2... Works like a charm... except the MAC address filtering issue... But that isn't that secure anyway.... So I had no problem turning off that layer...

Did I answer your question? I kind of rambled..

    Bricked my WRT54G v1.1

Loaded the new 4.00.7 firmware to my v1.1 router. I had no problems with that. All was well until I clicked on the SES icon in the web utility (curiosity). After that, I could NOT get my router back to normal, couldn't login into the web utility...nothing. I used all debricking methods, and no luck resuscitating it. I had no choice but to buy a new WRT54G. Just wondering if the new firmware is good enough to load it on my new v2.0 router. This time, I won't click on that SES icon. LOL.

Transferring DVD image from wireless to wired, after 3GB it gets painfully slow, sub-300K/s, same room, 5 feet from router. Has anyone ever experienced this?

What is the "large file transfer" problem about? Obviously it is something that has not been fixed. :(

it is when you have high throughput or a lot of traffic that the router dissconnects. and your speed problem can be fixed with dd-wrt v23. it is still in pre beta. it has the new wireless drivers and has the speed fix.
