All of those firmware releases (apart from the AG041 code) are specifically for Australian users, more specifically those who use the Telstra cable service - they have modifications to allow them to properly support Telstra's "Heartbeat" authentication protocol.

AG041 code has added Backup/Restore option for configuration files (under the "Administration" tab), and has also expanded the options for restricing access to WAN addresses under the "Access Restrictions" tab. The "Australia" and "New Zealand" suffixes to the firmware names simply signify that the default VPI/VCI values are the correct ones for those countries - if you plan on using these elsewhere you will have to modify the VPI/VCI values to match.

thanks for the info...though why do some have ETSI on them? this is a European Telecommunications Standards Institute so what does that have to do with Australia?

    Hey Simon,
Australian Telecoms regulations allow for us to use products that comply with either the ETSI or FCC specs for 802.11 b/g products, so it doesn't really matter either way for us. There is nothing specific built into the image that means it can only be used in Australia (hence if is an ETSI image it will keep that naming convention), just the only changes that have been made over available firmware are specific to the Heartbeat functionality. I do concur that a bit more information in the form of release notes would be nice to clear things like this up!
