I have GS v3 router and flashed the 11/14 gs std version and reset to factory defaults. Can't get WAN IP. "mtd nvram erase;reboot" did not reboot the router have to do a hard reset to get back the web and telnet.

Anyone else has the same problem?

    Thx

Before I changed the router name, if I did an "nslookup", it says that the server is "G" (the last character of the router name).

Once I changed the router name (even if I changed it back to WRT54G) it was fine. Then I changed the Time Zone, and it's back to "G" again (from the WRT54G).

ok - I changed the timezone again - and now nslookup responds "ull' -- it seems we have a memory issue here.

    I created a ticket

    added later:
Ah, I just noticed I was testing against 11.11 -- and with the major issues I've heard about 14.11, I'm not going to give that a try tonight....

Working semi-ok here. I can only get client-bridged mode working for a short while. It didn't take till I manually changed the channel to the one I needed, then switched it to client mode.
Before doing this and trying to use "Join" under survey, it just seemed to stay stuck on channel 6.

Maybe I was just impatient *which I am from time to time*, but it took a fair amount of time to establish the client connection.

Other then that I didn't test much out at all...still unfamiliar with a lot of the packed in toys.

I just updated to the Nov 14th build and for some odd reason after the first reboot my WAN port became a LAN port.... Now how do I set it back to a WAN port...

And no I did not mess with the VLAN setting as I have no idea how they work...

I assume it has something to do with that new option.

I have a weird problem too - my 4th port no longer routes with this new version. Not sure why, but I can't seem to fix it. Anyone have this same problem? The other three ports seem to work just fine.

I had to flash back to the Nov 11th build to get my ports working again. But due to the problem with the WAN port I flashed it via the WAN port...

I did finally seem to get the ports working with the Nov 14th build but I had to reset is a number of times ans somthing was still not right. After that I could not get the router to obtain an IP from my ISP so I am guessing it is somthing to do with the port problem. So like I said at the start I flashed to the Nov 11th build and all is once again fine except the already known bugs.

I struggled so much with that 4th port becoming a WAN port that I just reflashed back to 11/8/05, my "last known good configuration." I was never able to get that 4th port working!

(The WAN port became a switched port in its place)

I also have a GS v3... I had to do a hard reset over and over then reflash to linksys firmware, reflash to DD-WRT Nov 11th build, hard reset, and finally reflash again with Nov 11th build and manually enter settings to get things back to normal.

these are the firmwares I used above.
    linksys 4.70.6

DD-WRT mini Nov 14th (gave me trouble)

Just got my WRT54GS yesterday, flashed it 10mins ago with 14.11 build, Cannot get a WAN IP on the router. if i set my LAN connection to DHCP the computer gets the WAN ip. seems like the port became a switch.

    Edit:
    btw, wrt54GS v3

Yeah, the ports got all switched around. Port 4 became the WAN port with this release and the WAN port became a switched port.

so a flashed it back to the factory firmware.

Question: Do i have to flash it back to factory firmware to downgrade/upgrade to a different version of dd-wrt?

No. I did hard reset (with 11/14) and was connect to LAN port 2 or 3 and can get back to the web page and re-flash with the 11/11 build and hard reset again after complete flash everything is back to normal. I used gs std build.
