    Nov 23rd mini build on a WRT54GS V3

I am having no problems with one exception... If I try to enable the internet UPnP icon( so I can check the UPnP mappings) in my network places the icon disapears and the UPnP daemon will crash and restart.

You have to add the UPnP interface via add/remove programs windows components network services.

Otherwise you will not see it...

If this is the only minor problem then that is great... This is a problem I can live with...

This build is wonderful for me so far! Excellent work as usual Brainslayer!

    Hello guys,

Just tried this one with no luck, just like I had with 18.11.2005

This time I have a few logs though ...

WRT54G v1.1 (upgrading from Wifi-box.net 2.02.2.6.tpr), set to factory default *after* flashing by holding the reset button pressed for some time (maybe that's my mistake here ??) ...

The problem is it can't get the IP from my ISP modem (DHCP).

The log with the error :

    Code:
Jan 1 00:06:02 merlin kern.err udhcpc[1204]: script /usr/share/udhcpc/default.script failed: No such file or directory
    Jan 1 00:06:08 merlin kern.debug udhcpc[1015]: Sending discover...
    Jan 1 00:06:10 merlin kern.debug udhcpc[1015]: Sending discover...
    Jan 1 00:06:12 merlin kern.debug udhcpc[1015]: Sending discover...
    Jan 1 00:07:16 merlin kern.debug udhcpc[1015]: Sending discover...
    Jan 1 00:07:18 merlin kern.debug udhcpc[1015]: Sending discover...
    Jan 1 00:07:20 merlin kern.debug udhcpc[1015]: Sending discover...
    Jan 1 00:08:24 merlin kern.debug udhcpc[1015]: Sending discover...
The thing is there not even a /usr/share/ ... ??

I also have the whole dmesg if needed ...

Any advice someone ? Thank you !

You may want to clear your nvram. There may be some old stuff from a previous wifi life effecting DD-WRT

Yes but he said he already did that after flashing by holding reset button.

Do you have cable? Maybe your ISP is doing MAC filtering and the WAN MAC address is different in DD-WRT than in Wifi-Box. Determine what your WAN MAC address is when running Wifi-Box & then use the 'Setup -> MAC Address Close' feature in DD-WRT to make them match.

I`ve got WRT54G v3.1 - 23/11 works without problems; last version that worked this good was 11/11.

The amber CiscoSystems light shows if you are connected or not connected? right ?

All the other versions between 11/11-23/11 had strange problem: after few hours router stopped responding - web-management died. I`m not sure if it fixed in this version; i`ll report it later ;)

    Tested on WRT54G V4.0
DHCP on both Wireless and wired side do not assing an IP address. You can setup a static IP and access the router. I tried to seup WPA2 with preshared key and TKIP+AES encryption with no luck the wireless dropped out once rest back to normal no encryption wireless worked.

take it as what you will

Brainslayer, please reintroduce the Samba client in the mini version, so we are able to run custom scripts and binaries from a SMB server. I see that the "mini" binary is only 2.5MB so there is plenty of room for the samba client.
JFFS is just not big enough for me, I need Samba too. I see it is available in the standard version, but then I don't have JFFS on the WRT54G (not enough room left) :(
Also, now when it is possible to flash images over 3.8MB in size for the GS units, is it possible to have a version for the GS that combines _everything_ - VoIP,VPN,KAID.....

Thank you guys for your answers.

4Access I'm sure my ISP is not doing MAC filtering. They've got their own DSL modem but on my side it's just plain ethernet/simple DHCP.

dellsweig, I confirm I did hold the reset button, but I'll try the nvram command as soon as I can disconnect every one ;)

I've seen a field in the DHCPc form of the web interface, I tried to fill it whith the word "linksys" but it didn't change anything ... Anyone knows what this setting is doing ?

    Thanks again ...

I had same problem with router stop responding after few hours. Posted in bugtracker, but I got responce that P2P caused the problem. I dont use P2P!!! With build 23.11 i dont have that problem so far! I also have WRT54G V3.1.

Remote Managment via https in LAN-LAN config doesn't work

if RM is turned on in ver. 231105, I cannot reach the router via the WAN Port, even if the managment port is set to 443. Furthermore, the setting can't be reverted, https checkbox is "greyed out"

    very strange?!?

missing ip address field in dhcp forward

    Hi all,

ip address field has only 3 instead of the usual 4 ?octet? when I set the dhcp server as a DHCP forwarder.

    I am running Firmware: DD-WRT v23 (11/23/05) on WRT54G v.2 box.

I have this firmware and two routers in WDS,

    WEP working ,

WPA with tkip only working with one client conected to the last router if second tries to connect connection drops and connects every 5 seconds.

    WPA with EAS working perfectly.

Two days ago I purchased and installed a new WRT54GS v2.1 router. I installed DD-WRT v23 (11/23/05). Everything works fine throughout the day, including internet access and VOIP (Sunrocket). However, sometime during the middle of the night the router stops responding. When I come down in the morning all of the devices (computers, VOIP adapter) have lost connection to the internet and I am not able to access the router's web interface. This has happened on both nights since the router has been installed. Power cycling the router restores everything to normal operation and everything continues to work fine until sometime in the middle of the night. There is very little or no activity during the night so I have no idea what could be causing this problem.

Since the router is brand new I don't know if this is a hardware or firmware problem. Any suggestions as to how to proceed to determine the problem and resolution would be appreciated.

Very rarely is it a hardware problem, but the easiest way to be sure is simply to flash back to the stock Linksys firmware and run that for a day or two.

Are you using any features that are not included in the original firmware that might be crashing overnight?

Also you said the web interface was unavailable but did you try connecting with telnet?

EDIT: I wasn't paying close attention to which version you were running... another thing you might want to try is getting the latest version and see if that runs any better.

Finally you didn't mention if you reset to defaults after flashing... this is very important! If you forget this step don't be surprised if you have strange problems.
