New Router Purchase - Best/Latest available that supports Tomato?

Question is in the title really.

I've got a WRT45GL that has served me well for years, and still does really. I want to buy a newer router 'just because', really, and have some spare cash lying around - plus I think newer routers have much better wireless than 2.4Ghz etc?

Any suggestions for what I should buy? I'm just looking for the best hardware wise that is recent, and supports flashing a full Tomato firmware (or other, DD-WRT etc) over the stock, without any limitations.

I've found this thread; but it's from 2008.

Nothing from Belkin - I've gone through about 4 of those before I got my beloved WRT45GL and I hate that company with a passion.

    Thanks in advance.

General consensus is the best Tomato routers at the moment are Asus RT-N66 or RT-AC66. CPU and memory essentially the same for both, so which one just depends if you want or need AC wireless support.

I can't figure out how to PM you, I have an extra AC66 I could part with if you are interested.
