First of all I would like to say that Tarifa 34 is an excellent release. Very stable and nice to work with.

Is there a new Tarifa coming?
and if yes, will it be possible to include some kind of bandwidth monitor?
Also a possibility to overclock the processor would be nice...

    jchuit, if you read this...

    Thanks,

New firmware coming? Yes, but I don't know when.

The next version will be the same as 34RC1, but some bugs (all minor) should be solved.

Tarifa upto 033 did have an snmp deamon for graphs and etc, I removed this in the default 034, maybe it should be an option?

A simple monitor is BWM, this is an utility that can be run in Telnet, it gives the transferspeed of all interfaces. Something to include in the future?

Overclocking is possible, some models will stick to 216 Mhz (v2.2 v3.0......)
I have tested 240 Mhz, and this worked without problems. It isn't included in the webinterface, but can be set in Telnet.

Type the following in telnet (at your own risk...) to gain 20% of speed:

    nvram set clkfreq=240
    nvram commit
    reboot

    Greetings,

    Thanks allot for your reply,

I will certainly try your suggestions.

I have a WRT54GL and i've read that 250Mhz is possible for this chipset. is 20% gain the max?

    Greetings

In the next release Tarifa034RC2, I will add bwm.
This is a small utility that gives statistics of all interfaces and can be executed in telnet.

If you like to try it now, you can download it in the RAMdisk of your WRT54G.

Go to telnet and logon to your WRT54G:
    1 load the binary.
    wget ftp://krumdeel.dyndns.org/Public/wrt54gl/bwm
2 change the file mode to execute.
    chmod +x bwm
    3 execute the program.
    bwm

The 20% is the max gain, you can get. I have here a router running on 240 Mhz without any problem for a long time.

    greetings,
    jchuit

    Tarifa 034 RC2

The latest build (RC2) is the same as RC1, but it has the bwm utility included:

    ftp://krumdeel.dyndns.org/Public/wrt54gl/Tarifa034RC2/

At the moment, there is no new development for the WRT54GL, the reason is the new wrt160nl.
I bought a wrt160nl, and I am now testing it a little bit.

Linksys deleted the 4.30.13 source from there website, but I have made a copy of the source.
See for the source, binary and archive:
    ftp://krumdeel.dyndns.org/Public/wrt54gl/WRT54GL-US_v4.30.13/
In the 4.30.13 firmware there is a page added for single-port forwarding.

Tarifa 034 RC2 is based on the 4.30.12 source.

Hey jchuit how's it going with the wrt160nl, you managed to hack the firmware yet?

I picked one up a couple of days ago and i'm very pleased with it, cant wait to get some custom firmware on it tho :)

    Hi,

    At the moment not.

The recent version of the linksys firmware have a close source rc, this 'rc' function controlles all the basic functions, this makes firmware mod. more difficult.
