I have latest WRT54G firmware 7.0 ... but problems with weak signal remain
the same as before ... but after doing some search on the net i coudnt find any 3-rd party firmware for v7.0.
Anyone seen something around or heard about works in progress?

The same problems with my WRT54G v7 :(
Also it hangs when I download/upload torrents :(
It's sad because this version has different hardware configuration (Atheros AR2317 chipset...) which disables third party firmware. At the same time there is no new Linksys firmware (last firmware version 7.00.1 is from 6/08/2006) :(

The WRT54G starting with version 5 and newer are using VxWorks not Linux and they have half the amount of ram in them. These routers versions 5, 6, and 7 will not run any of the 3rd party firmware, with the exception of DD-WRT. They might make a "mini" version that might work on a version 5.

In the US version 7 is skipped...it goes from 6 to 8. In Europe we have the 7 version. Strange... What goes wrong, also with the latest firmware from linksys 7 version 7.00.4 is that after the line drops the router does not automatically dial in anymore (The redial after 30 secs is on). I have to use the PPTP configuration. Any idea? Is it possible to make a script for this since this router has many possibilities but I do not know how.
