    hi there
I am wanting to set up a linux server on my home LAN. I was wondering if anyone could give me some pointers on what I need to have set up and how ...
right now I have a cable connection with a WRT54G (v.2) running in DHCP mode for my machines.
One desktop machine connected via ethernet to the router - and 3 odd laptops connected wirelessly at various times.
Whats the best way to set up a server for my own use within this setup? Oh and how would I do it?

    Any pointers much appreciated. :)

i guess it begs the question of what it will be used for.
since all you need to do for it to "work" is plug it in like any of the workstations. however it may be desirable to assign it a static ip address so that you can more easily find it on the network :)
