newer builds and wireless client mode

    Hello to all!
Some days ago I read on dd-wrt portal that older builds, such as last stable version, v24 SP1, have a security bug.
    Since then I was running build 10020 on a Linksys WRT54GL v1.1.
The linksys has a PC connected in Ethernet with the switch and the wifi interface connected in wireless client mode to a wifi modem router.
After having flashed the Linksys with latest, and recommended, build 13064, it was impossible for the Linksys to connect to the modem, pinging the wifi modem from the pc was impossible and furthermore I saw in Administration>wireless page continuous reconnections of Llinksys to the modem.
After this I tried also the newer build of Tomato firmware Victek modded but I had the same problem, so I decided to revert to last dd-wrt stable and everything was OK.
This evening I've flashed again the Linksys with dd-wrt BrainSlayer build 12874 and again the Linksys wouldn't connect to the modem. Problem was solved configuring wifi interface in wireless client bridge mode.
Just a question: what's happening? Maybe the new wireless driver, provided that the problem affected two different firmwares? I made a 30-30-30 hard reset before and after every flashing...
    Thanks in advance
