No Connection to WRT54GL

    Hello Forum

    Have a new Linksys WRT54GL v1.1 purchased.
    Then the firmware from Tomato uploaded. Now I can not login. The Broswer has no connection with the IP 192.168.1.1. Already tested the firmware to save with whr_install.bat. But no connection.

    What should I do, thanks for your help.:mad:

    Can't think of anything obvious except to ask some basic questions.

    Did the Tomato firmware upload complete successfully? With no power failure or unplugging before the flash had time to complete?

    Have you tried connecting both wired and wirelessly?

    Is your client set to get an IP address via DHCP from the router? If so, is this succeeding or failing? If not, what is your client IP config?

    Is anything showing up in the client arp table? (arp -a)

    Even if the flash went wrong, the router should come up listening on, what is it, 192.168.1.1 for a few seconds when it first starts and can be pinged if you set a static IP address on your client. But I'm getting ahead of myself, need some more basic information first.

    Yes, go through with restart.

    Only wired

    No, My PC has a fixed IP 192.168.1.100

    I can look up later

    ping does not work.

    before the update have changed ip of 192.168.1.18 router because my modem is on 192.168.1.1. is the new ip lost after the update?

    Worked with a hard reset of 30 seconds.

    Good deal, I should have asked that question, since after all it's in the official Tomato FAQ.
