    Hi,

I'm having difficulties with my network setup and I'm wondering if anyone can help me. I've read the tutorial on this and am stuck.

I have two linksys WRT54G's that I have flashed with Sveasoft's Alchemy 6rc5. I have a router hooked up to a cable modem...standard setup. I followed the tutorial's directions exactly for setting up the router. Internet works great when connected directly to the router.

The access point is on the other side of my house. It has the same SSID. It
also is set up exactly how the tutorial instructed.

Now, my laptop is setup under the TCP/IP settings of:

    IP: 192.168.10.15
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.10.31

    No DNS specified.

    The router is under:

    IP: 192.168.10.30
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.10.30

No DNS specified. DHCP enabled starting at 192.168.10.100 for 50 users.

And finally, the access point is:

    IP: 192.68.10.31
    Subnet: 255.255.255.0
    Gateway: 192.168.10.30

No DNS specified. DHCP is disabled.

I'm 100% positive the MAC addresses are correct for each device. I get perfect internet when I connect to the router, but not when I move to the other side of the house and connect to the access point with the same SSID. Any clues?

    Thanks a lot, guys!

Your notebook should have the gateway set to you router IP of 192.168.10.30 not the AP. If the "router" is your Internet connection then that is the address you want to set as it will pass Internet traffic out.

Ok, I've changed the gateway that I connect to to that of the router (192.168.10.30). Still, no connection... I've tried restarting all devices, including my computer. It seems that the AP isn't connected to the router. As a matter of fact, it's not listed as a DCHP leasee on the router.

I intend to connect the router and AP via wireless, just in case I didn't clarify that.

    Thanks guys.
