Yesterday, the power in our area went off briefly, after which the INTERNET light and PORT lights lit up but no Power, WAN or DMZ lights ever light up. I have tried the triple 30-30-30 reset several times but to no avail. Also, what is that switch inside the box at the opposite side of the pcb from the reset switch? I opened my box to see if anything appeared damaged.

it would be hard to identified the issue, though if any power surge has happened it will fry the circuitry of the board. it is always advised to use a Surge protector Plug/extension when using any type of Modem/router as these are very prone to breaking.

the power supply to the modem is plugged into a surge protector and none of the other devices plugged into the surge protector are affected. do the port lights light up because of the power is supplied by the ethernet cable attached?

A Port light only lights up if a cable is attached and terminated at the other end by another device.
