No Power WRT54G

I am not sure what happened here. I purchased a WRT54G for $20.00 a year ago (I think it is a V1) and put it on the shelf since I wasn't ready to use it yet. I take it off the shelf and I get no signs of life when I plug it in.

I have a friend who has a V5 and I was planning on trying to plug my adapter into his to see if the adapter was the cause but the adapter wouldn't fit. I plugged in my adapter to his and it lit up fine.

We took apart the casing and I was looking for any bad capacitors but none of them seemed to bad. Some of them looked more "bloated" then others but nothing was oozing out of them.

Any ideas on what I should test or anything I can try to revive this device?

AFAIK, the v1 runs on 5VDC, while the others, maybe v2 or v3 up, runs on 12VDC. You may have fried your router with a 12V supply if that same supply can drive a v5, as the v5 would need like 7V or more.

There's another thread on here somewhere where somebody replaced the voltage regulator of (I think) a v1. Maybe some info there.
