I have a wireless WRT54G that connects through the wan port to my BEFSR41 Uplink port. Everything works greats VPN games all that but I'm having a issue with signal. I have a tower pc that’s in the other room, it can see the network but not connect. When I to connect with my lab top in that room not issues . Using the 2.4 WMP54G in the tower.
Funny thing is I’m streaming the signal to another building 500 feet away. With no mod’s my lab top can pick it up…. I plan on move the tower there. But since I can’ get a signal from the other room ?... I just install the HyperWRT_2.1b1_G firm wear and boast the signal to 67% … still nothing … I picked up some 7+db antennas from ebay, for the router and tower, once with cables that you can move around. Just waiting to get them. Anyhow I think the pc is making to much noise some how .. here are the screen shots of the tower and lab top

this one is a bit tricky... unless the antenna is really bad or broken...
    try these:
    -change the antenna
-change the PCI slot the card is in
-remove all drivers and reinstall them
-move the desktop PC to antoher room and try again
    -try a different wireless channel
-try a new card ( "rent" one from your local bestbuy or frys :))

Its a brand new WMP54G 2.4g Pci card. It can see the network but It won't connected. Also I picked up a 2.4 Pcmcia Linksys WPC54GS 802.11g Wireless PC Card Adapter w/Speedbooster. For another lap top in that room and works fine....

I was thinking maybe there was to much noise ? Anyhow I bought a bigger antenna form ebay. I suppose I'll try that.

ahhhh the answer came to me this morning when I got up.... I'm over clocking that system ... and apparently the linksys didn't like the pci card running at a higher mhz … any how I lowered the pci bus… and its alive!!!!!
